Twin Cities Championships – Recap

The newly revived Twin Cities Championships kicked off the 2010 Minnesota Skinnyski Series (MiSSeries) on the beautiful trails of Battle Creek and Theodore Wirth. Despite the cold temperatures, about 200 skiers turned out on both Saturday and Sunday to begin the new quest for the various titles that the MiSSeries have to offer.

The men’s race came down to an exciting finish as Rossignol teammates Matt Weier and Bjorn Batdorf battling for the top spot, with Matt Weier pulling away at the end to be crowned the champion of the Twin Cities for men. The women’s race wasn’t as much of a competition as CXC skier Johanna Winters started out in first and never looked back, taking the women’s pursuit title and being crowned the female champion of the Twin Cities.

In the overall competition, David Christopherson currently holds the top spot over David Landgraf for men, while Kelly Skillicorn leads Cheryl DuBois for women. The age group leaders are as follows.
