Minnesota Skinnyski Series Celebrates Season with Awards Banquet

Nearly 70 skiers descended for the second year in a row on the small town of Mora for the 2010 Minnesota Skinnyski Series end-of-year-banquet, Metro Youth Super Series awards ceremony, and the Minnesota Nordic Ski Association Lifetime Achievement Awards. The beautiful Vasaloppet Nordic Center served as the host to a night of fun, food, and camaraderie.

The 2010 Minnesota Skinnyski Series concluded this past weekend under the watchful eyes of Paul Bunyan and Babe the Blue Ox in Bemidji, MN for the Minnesota Finlandia.  Skiers were treated to perfect weather and some of the best snow conditions Bemidji has experienced in years.  Over 200 skiers showed up for the weekend of events, with the 25km pursuit serving once again as the MiSSeries qualifier event.

Six Great Races -- One Great Series

The Minnesota Skinnyski Series (“MiSSeries”) is the premier citizen skier series in the country. Male and female skiers of all ages compete for the grand prize trips to ski in Iceland’s Fossavatn Ski Marathon. Series events include the Boulder Lake 31 k,  the Pepsi Challenge 25 k classic, the Governor's Cup 25 k, the City of Lakes Loppet 25 k, the Mora Vasaloppet 42 k classic, and the Finlandia 25 k pursuit. Compete for the overall prize, age class recognition or the team championship.
